White on White on White

This blog post discusses my first Whiteout football game as a Penn State student. One of the best traditions in college football, the Whiteout is time where all 107,000 fans in Beaver Stadium come together to form a sea of white and cheer on the Nittany Lions (who ended up losing the game to Ohio State). As as student, the Whiteout is one of the greatest representations of school pride throughout the year, and it is something that every Penn State student must experience before graduation. I'm thankful that I still have 3 more left, and I plan to cherish and embrace every single one.

The Creamery Challenge

This blog post focuses on one of my ice cream trips to the famous Berkey Creamery, detailing one of the many flavors that they serve to customers. The Creamery is a campus landmark, and every student knows about the exceptional ice cream that Penn State produces on campus. Since ice cream is my favorite dessert, I thought that this blog would detail some more of my interests, including how I want to have every single flavor before I graduate. I know that this goal seems unlikely because of the amount of money I would have to spend and the health risks of eating that much ice cream, but I think that it should be worth noting the significance of the Creamery.

Whiplash Review: Jazz Conductor From Hell

This blog post details my review of the film Whiplash, one of my favorite films that I watched in the second semester. The film follows the story of a prospective jazz drummer enrolled in a prestigious music school and his struggle to be the best under the immense pressure of his instructor. I enjoyed the film's portrayal of the relationship between the two main characters, adding tension and depth to the film that helps carry it along. The film captures your attention from the first scene, causing you to evaluate the protagonist's drive to be the greatest under a ruthless instructor that pushes him to the limit. Even though the film indicates the dark side of success, I believe that our drive to be successful defines us, and we need this drive to advance in society.

Blog Posts

Throughout the year, I maintained a blog called Warner's Words that focused on my passions. The first semester was a blog centered around a Penn State bucket list, while the second semester was a blog that contained movie reviews. The blog posts selected best exemplify the messages that each blog is attempting to convey, as well as displaying the ability of keeping up with a weekly blog. While engineers may not write blogs, they do have to follow deadlines for projects and work hard to meet these deadlines. By writing a weekly blog, I demonstrated that I can meet certain deadlines with quality work. For the entire blog, click here.
