This rhetorical analysis essay focuses on Budweiser's "Global Be(er) Responsible Day" advertisement, which tells the story of the bond between a man and his dog, and the importance that the relationship has on both parties. By discussing the lyrical content, scenes between the man and the dog, and the emotions evoked by the audience, the piece centers on how Budweiser uses a common understanding to portray ethos and pathos throughout the advertisement. As a dog owner and a proponent for save driving, I decided that analyzing this commercial is important for audiences to have an emotional connection and a reason to always think before drunk driving.
Concussions in Football: A Paradigm Shift
This paradigm shift paper focuses on the alterations in concussion awareness and treatment for football players in the past decade. From discovering brain scans of deceased players to the NFL implementing new rules and protocols, concussions have proven to be a heated and sensitive topic, but one that must be addressed. Since I am a big football fan, I thought it would be interesting to research how concussions have impacted today's game, and how the future is uncertain for the sport. Although the sport is becoming more popular, the threat of concussions causes drawbacks that need to be addressed.
Combatting the Rising College Tuition Costs
This issue brief discusses the drastic increase in college tuition costs in the United States over the past decade. By looking to history to see tuition trends, the reader is able to understand why tuition has risen much faster than inflation and the Consumer Price Index. The issue brief focuses on the economic impact of tuition costs, stemming from the increased student loan debt that graduates are seeing. As a college student, college tuition has a serious impact on my future, and I would like to increase awareness for the problem to ensure that future college students will not have to experience massive amounts debt.

I demonstrated that I was able to expand and go into detail through the different pieces I have written, and that I understood the tasks to write diverse and intriguing papers. While engineers may not have to write a substantial number of papers, it is important for them to adapt to the task at hand and complete work of different kinds. I believe this section shows that I am able to take on assignments dilligently and intellectually, creating works that display my creativity.
